Fangmeier Wedding | National Wedding Photographer

It’s one of those special weddings where I happen to know the couple, and some of their family, personally. This always makes the day a little extra sweet, because I get to celebrate with them passed the portraits. Admittedly I’ve been super impatient for this wedding, mostly because I have been waiting for it since the day Andrew mentioned he bought a ring, but then continued to torture everyone by waiting and waiting to propose. So you can imagine my joy the day I FINALLY got the message from Amelia….”He proposed!!” ……..*insert gorgeous ring photo here*

Their planning began, and I was completely honored when they asked me to capture their day. Especially since I knew how laid back the two would be in letting me do whatever I wanted. Not only is that kind of trust so precious between couple and photographer, but it opens up so much more opportunity for the images and portraits. I was also super excited to shoot in a new bridal hot spot at On the Bricks Lofts and Venue in Fairbury, Nebraska. From beautiful exposed brick and wood floors to decorations and the lofts upstairs for getting ready; They are fully equipped to host a wedding day all in one place! This makes my photographer heart extra happy, because it means less running around and more time for shooting; And let me tell you - we have some STUNNING images from their day.

The first half of the day began with finding the big and small moments that set the mood for the evening: The dress, florals, suits, jewelry, venue, getting ready and all the goodies in between. Using a color palette of eucalyptus green, white and gold, the centerpieces were adorned with greenery and candles, and the room was covered in white florals and pretty white draped fabric. Did I mention the brick?! Of course I did, because I have all the heart eyes over here for unique old buildings!

Whenever a couple chooses to do a first look I love to find somewhere the two can enjoy a moment alone. Andrew and Amelia shared in an emotion-filled greeting as they saw each other for the first time, and took a moment to honor and remember Andrew’s late father, who passed just several weeks before their special day.

It’s rare when people believe me that their time for experiencing, enjoy and capturing the day will go fast; One minute you’re slipping on the dress and the next minute chairs are starting to fill with family and friends. Their ceremony was quaint and full of joy, but what got to me the most was the look on Andrew’s face as Amelia walked down the aisle. I often get asked by couples if the first look changes that moment, but take one look at these shots and you’ll immediately know that the walk down the aisle is a whole different kind of vibe.

With a few handshakes and confetti pops the wedding party is loaded up on an adorable trolley so we can head off for a few more portraits. The “in between stuff” is one of my favorites for my couples, because it’s here when the stress and formalities fall away - and it shows: The smiles get bigger, the hugs get tighter and love somehow looks deeper.

I hope you’ll all enjoy my favorite bajillion shots from the day! (Yes I know “bajillion” is not a word. HA!) But there’s a lot and I have no regrets. ❤️

Andrew and Amelia-
It has been such a neat experience watching you two grow over the years. Something always told me this was it for you both and I couldn’t wait for this exact day to come. I pray your marriage is full of love, triumphs, and strength to take on the hardest of days. Thank you for trusting me with this once in a lifetime experience, and letting me capture the magic of the day. Wishing you all the best in your days ahead.

Cheers to becoming Mr. & Mrs!
